How to thicken eyelashes and eyebrows

Everyone likes to have long, healthy, thick eyelashes and well-defined eyebrows. But thickening and strengthening eyelashes and eyebrows is not always child's play. Especially for those born with light eyelashes or thin eyebrows, other times stress and excessive use of particularly aggressive cosmetics weaken them, leaving them sparse and emptied.

In addition, the trend of recent years wants dark and defined eyebrows. But it is not always such an easy 'job'. And so, often, thinking about correcting or fixing the eyebrows, we make things worse.

As well as hair, especially during the mid-season, eyelashes suffer greatly from the stress of seasonal changes. That's why our mission becomes to thicken eyelashes and eyebrows, not only through make-up but also using natural remedies that can come to our rescue.

So after removing your make-up well, try these 'homemade' recipes that can 'thicken' your look!

The first 'recipe' to make at home to grow eyelashes involves the combination of two oils: olive oil and almond oil.

Olive oil gives strength to the eyelashes, protecting them and making them stronger, while on the eyebrows it also has a disciplining action. Almond oil, on the other hand, has a nourishing power.

Apply the mixture to the lashes with the help of a small brush or the mascara brush and leave on for at least 20 minutes. If it is absorbed well and does not leave the lashes too greasy, then you do not need to rinse.

These oils mixed together have an almost miraculous effect (they are nutritive for the hair follicles) but you will have to repeat the operation consistently at least twice a week for four weeks.

Castor oil and eyelashes: the action of this oil in strengthening and lengthening eyelashes is so well established that some brands of castor oil have now developed packages with a built-in eyelash applicator.

In fact, it is a real panacea for eyelashes weakened by the change of season and beyond.

It is an oil widely used by our grandmothers precisely because of its emollient properties, and is a very rich source of vitamin E which helps improve the health of the eyelashes making them much stronger and longer, but it also contains proteins and fatty acids that nourish the hair and stimulate circulation in the area where it is applied.

To apply it, you need a clean brush that you will dip in the oil (you can find it in any herbalist's shop) and gently pass it over your eyelashes before going to bed. In the morning, just wash your face with warm water and you're done.

The eyebrows are intended to frame the eyes and give shape and movement to the oval of the face: if you have sparse eyebrows, with few hairs and that do not grow enough, do not give up. There are a number of natural remedies to make them grow and thicken them, and to be precise we see castor oil back on the scene.

Here is a low-cost recipe that can come to your aid: you only need 10 ml of castor oil and 2 ml of gallic acid (which you can find in the most common herbalist's shops).

Mix the ingredients well and apply them with the help of a brush on the eyebrows, then leave them on overnight and rinse in the morning with a mild tonic or simply warm water.

Egg white is rich in flavonoids, useful for thickening eyelashes and giving body to sparse eyebrows.

The system is very simple: you can apply the egg white directly to the eyelashes and eyebrows. The sensation will be that of a slightly sticky and gelatinous substance but just let it act for about 20 minutes and then rinse.

Repeat this operation for three consecutive days as shock therapy and then once a week may be enough. With a recommendation: be careful to avoid contact with the eyes.

Rich in vitamins, proteins and minerals, in addition to promoting growth by acting on hair follicles, coconut oil has a slight darkening action, thus making eyelashes and eyebrows more aesthetically "decisive". It should be applied with a massage in the evening and left on overnight.

Repeat the operation every night for a couple of months.

The aloe vera plant is rich in enzymes and moisturizing substances that cleanse the hair follicles so that the hair can be free to grow naturally.

Apply a little gel with your fingers to the lashes, practicing a light massage; then leave it on and let it act overnight and rinse in the morning with warm water. In the long run, growth will be stimulated and the hairs will grow thicker.

One last simple tip:

every time you put on make-up and brush your eyebrows or finish them with pencils and make-up, finish it all off with a drop of extra virgin olive oil: a minimum amount is enough to obtain a shiny effect and nourish them at the same time.

These remedies are not miraculous and do not have an immediate effect, but in the long term, with constancy and associated with a healthy diet, you will notice improvements.
