Plumped lips
The lips are a very exposed part of our body, subject to external agents (such as the sun, wind, etc.) but also to the natural physiological changes to which the body is subjected as we age. That's why it's important to always take care of them, with attention and precautions to have soft and well-groomed lips at all times and at every stage of life.
To have soft plump lips it is essential a daily care and the right lifestyle. You need to:
Follow a healthy diet;
Moisturize them with balms;
Have a lip care routine;
Eliminate bad habits.
What diet to follow in lip care?
Eating a balanced diet rich in vitamins and nutrients is crucial for lip health. Vitamins A, C and E, for example, keep the lips healthy and well hydrated, while vitamin B plays a fundamental role in the level of free radicals and acts as an antioxidant.
That is why it is important to regularly consume fruits and vegetables, foods that are naturally rich in vitamins and which, in a simple way and without too much effort, act directly from the inside in favor of the part.
Another fundamental element, then, is hydration, an essential element in lip care, to keep them supple, plumped and naturally soft. Hydration that must come from external liquids, trivially taking the recommended two liters of water a day, but also from special cosmetic products for the care of the part.
Lip care routine
A correct lip care routine follows these steps:
Exfoliation: this is essential to ensure their softness and well-being. Basically, it is necessary to remove dead cells from the lips with a special gentle scrub, in fact, it is essential to properly oxygenate the area. A treatment that should be performed at least once a week, with special products (such as a scrub or a light peeling) or by gently brushing the lips with a toothbrush;
Rinse: after exfoliation, the lips should be rinsed with lukewarm water and using a very mild cleanser;
Moisturizing: at this point you need to moisturize your lips thoroughly, using a special balm and butter (excellent, for example, shea butter). A product to be applied several times, both during the day and before going to sleep;
Protect from the sun: during the day, before going out, also use a balm that has sunscreen included at least SPF 15 and remember to keep it in your bag to reapply it regularly for as long as you are outdoors.
Once a week, you can add a special mask to your beauty routine for soft lips.Â
What are the bad habits to avoid?
Finally, in order to always have soft and well-groomed lips, it is important to avoid stressing them with bad habits that harm the part such as:
Biting your skin when you are nervous or when you feel dry lips.
Pull on any skins in case of chapped lips.
Abuse matte lipsticks that tend to dry out the part more.
Forget to protect them from the sun, wind, water and anything that can harm them.
